  1. Hello there. I’m herald_of_meridian from the Gosick Wiki (at gosick.wikia.com). I thoroughly enjoyed the Gosick anime series and based on some reviews of the light novels, there have been a lot of details changed. I was happy to hear that you’re going to translate the light novels, and I hope that you’ll keep it up. :)

Hi. Thanks a lot for your translation. I don’t know even a bit of Japanese, and English is a second language for me but (believe it!) I can taste every sentence you put into this.

So, I’m waiting for the last part of the prelude to be finished before reading it ;) (I like better this way better)

    Again, thanks a lot!

Has anyone made a PDF or e-book friendly version of this? If not, would you mind if I did? Thanks again for doing the hard part! Now I need to get around to the fun part of reading!

Feel free to make one for your own use, but please don’t make one for distribution, at least not yet. I would like a chance to do a little more editing before making a more permanent version.

Thank you SO much for this!

You see, reading this as a pdf is really much easier.Even if you want to edit it later, creat a pdf with this name:
    [V0] Gosic I

This way you can publish newer versions of it and everyone would know this is a beta(?) version.

    And we can enjoy it.

So if anyone could post a pdf link to me (fifya[at]outlook.com) I’ll be thankful.

I do plan to provide PDFs for all the volumes. But I want to do at least one more round of QC before that happens. GosickS I was my first time translating a light novel, and I did it very quickly, before I devised my current system of multi-draft editing. So I still worry that there are errors in there that I haven’t discovered yet. My paper copy of the novel is in storage, so I won’t have a chance to do another round until I can move again in the next few months. Same goes for the other volumes.

That may only lead to a beta version of the PDF as you say, but I at least want to get one more round in before creating something that is more difficult to modify than this blog.

There are websites out there that allow readers to create their own PDFs of html texts. I just ask that no one publicly disseminate any PDF versions of my translations until I release one. It will happen, so please be patient. :)
